A video unit of Kanal 5 TV also came under fire. “A skirmish occurred at 22.00 (12.00 PDT. 15.00 EDT. 20.00 BST. 23.00 MSK. 05.00 16 May AEST) on Thursday and continued for 15 minutes”. Neither the journalists nor any junta forces were injured or killed.

The self-appointed Ukrainian government is accountable for using helicopters marked with UN roundels. The UN thinks that the Ukrainian government should make sure that it doesn’t violate agreements on carrying out peacemaking operations.

Yet, the Donetsk army headquarters doesn’t doubt it’ll be able to withstand this force, especially, as a growing number of Ukrainian servicemen take the people’s side out of despair and because of illegal orders from their commanders”.
Donetsk People’s Republic Army deputy commander Sergei Zdrulyuk said earlier, “I’ll wash my hands of it unless they pull back armoured vehicles, personnel, etc from Donetsk within the next few hours. I’ll no longer care who I’m dealing with, either conscripts, young boys aged 18, or older contract soldiers, or, especially, mercenaries. I’ll burn down and destroy everything unless they pull the hardware 20-30 kilometres (12-20 miles) back from Donetsk. I already have intelligence and sabotage groups”. During TV debates between candidates for the presidency of the European Parliament, Alexis Tsipras, leader of the Greek Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA), stated that Europe mustn’t recognise the neo-Nazi government of Ukraine. Tsipras is a candidate for the post of Chairman of the European Parliament from the European left. The party believes that the new government in Ukraine came to power because of a coup, and calls it a junta.
The Athens News Agency quoted Tsipras, “We shouldn’t accept or recognise the of neo-Nazi government in the Ukraine. The Ukrainian people should decide their future themselves. The European left respects the right to self-determination, but nationalism and clashes can’t lead to positive results. We in the EU shouldn’t give preference to changing borders, but we must respect the position of peoples who’ve decided to create a Federation within the state”.
He believes that this also applies to the Ukraine, where a federal structure would be a bridge between Russia and the EU. Tsipras said that SYRIZA advocates a dialogue at the OSCE, and disapproves of military intervention of both NATO and Russia to give a chance to the world. He said that Europe was again playing with Cold War against Russia because of the Ukrainian events. Tsipras thinks that sanctions can’t heal the consequences of such a policy, only diplomacy can do that. Tsipras said that the EU must change to survive; the EU lacks democracy, and citizens don’t believe that their vote can change policy. He said that at summits, leaders discuss solutions, but they only enact the wishes of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. He asked Juncker and Schultz whether the EU had the right to discuss scenarios of ousting two Prime Ministers (George Papandreou and Silvio Berlusconi) by a government of technocrats. Publications about EU actions against the two Prime Ministers lately appeared in the European press.

Police in Energodar arrested 20 Right Sector terrorists who tried to seize the Zaporozhye NPP. According to the leader of the Zaporozhye Right Sector, the fascists were afraid that the city would fall into the hands of anti-junta patriots. A Markovka resident told Interfax that “National Guard” (sic) militants arrested several dozen local activists of the recent pro-federalization referendum and three people are missing.
