RIA-Novosti reported that the battle for Kramatorsk is over, with one opolchenie member dead and nine others wounded. According to sources, the junta assault failed to enter the city. Fighting broke out in the Yasnogorka area on Friday evening. A junta armoured column blocked by civilians the day before decided to attempt a breakthrough. A local said, “They were afraid that we’d take away their weapons or armoured vehicles”. We have no information on junta losses as of yet. During the battle in Kramatorsk, civil alert sirens wailed, which didn’t happen in the morning, during the fight in Slavyansk, 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) from Kramatorsk. Eyewitnesses also reported that junta forces captured a opolchenie strongpoint between Slavyansk and Kramatorsk during the day. Reports indicate that no public transport between Slavyansk and Kramatorsk and within Kramatorsk will run. No buses will run for workers in local factories, even though they’re on a 24/7 production cycle. People finishing the night shift will have to go home by foot.

The Odessa Gorsoviet declared three days of public mourning for Friday’s tragic events, which took 41 lives, stating on its official website, “We declare that 3-5 May are days of mourning”. According to updated information, hospitals treated 123 people injured in clashes, admitting 40 to hospital, including 17 in critical condition. Most of the dead died from smoke inhalation, whilst others perished trying to escape by jumping out of windows. All Ukrainian and Odessa flags on state buildings will be at half-mast with black ribbons. The criminal blaze in Odessa was part of spreading violence across the country during the bloodiest day since the Western-backed putschist junta took power.

Popular rumour has it that the Right Sector was behind the arson. In this case, it doesn’t matter what the facts are… it matters what people believe. That sounds cynical, but that’s what happens in such circumstances. People believe that the Right Sector did it… so, at the earliest opportunity, they’re going to take it out on all Uniates. Is it fair? NO. Is it right? NO. Is it going to happen? YES. On Friday morning, the junta launched a failed military operation on Slavyansk involving Right Sector terrorists and other fascist thugs. Arseny Avakov, the so-called MVDU boss, made wild assertions claiming that “Russian spetsnaz” shot down the junta helos destroyed in the failed assault. A opolchenie spokesman said, “This doesn’t correspond to reality. Likewise, Avakov’s statements that the operation isn’t against the Ukrainian people, but against subversive groups of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff of the Russian Federation also aren’t consistent with reality. There aren’t any covert groups in the city, but the residents of Slavyansk, its civilian population, have come under missile strikes. Any road, the opolchenie doesn’t want to share its victory with anybody else”.

On Saturday, Nikolai Solntsev, the commissar of the Eastern Front movement, told RIA-Novosti, “Donetsk is mobilising today, we’ve declared full mobilisation. Our security services are ready for full-scale military action. People are currently gathering at the square. We’ll mobilise our people today in a united people’s resistance movement, so that every citizen of the city can struggle for freedom”.

On Saturday, Presidential Press Secretary Dmitri Peskov said that President Vladimir Putin extended his profound condolences and sympathy for those killed and injured in the bloody tragedy in Odessa, telling reporters, “Regrettably, we can’t express condolences to official Kiev as there’s no official Kiev as such. [President Putin] has serious concerns on how the situation is evolving and how some countries in the global community interpret it. He feels the deepest indignation at the actions of the Kiev authorities, which one can see as criminal. [President Putin] is following what’s happening [in the southeastern Ukraine] closely, he’s analysing the situation, to consider Russia’s further actions. Information about Ukrainian developments reaches him round-the-clock. All intelligence and related agencies report to him”. Dmitri Yarosh, leader of the ultranationalist movement Right Sector and candidate for Ukrainian President, went to Slavyansk to whip up the morale of his terrorist supporters. On Friday, Yarosh was to appear on TV, to appear on ShusterLive, however, he didn’t take part, as he took off to Slavyansk to take part in the “final stage” of the military operation. Despite bombastic claims from the junta and Yarosh that they’d fully mop-up Slavyansk today, everything is relatively quiet in the city so far. It’s safe to say that the junta forces haven’t engaged in active offensive actions. In the morning, people in Slavyansk heard shots, but, apparently, they came from the outskirts. As for the centre of Slavyansk, the patriot opolchenie is still in complete control of the situation.

The Donbass People’s Opolchenie HQ told Interfax that fighting is underway between patriot opolchenie and junta forces in Kramatorsk, and that they’re checking reports about deaths. The source said, “The security operation in Kramatorsk has resumed and junta snipers are in multi-storey buildings and fire from there. In addition, there’s fighting on the streets. The clashes have killed some people, mainly civilians, who happened to be near the scene”.

A opolchenie spokesman, identified as “Vladislav”, told journalists that intense clashes are taking place near Slavyansk, saying, “Currently, Right Sector terrorists and ‘National Guard’ elements are carrying out attacks near Druzhkovka. Locals there are virtually unarmed, and we have no strongpoints there. Besides this, fighting is taking place somewhere near Kramatorsk. Junta forces are massing armoured vehicles around Slavyansk, and Right Sector terrorists are trying to infiltrate the city disguised as local residents”.

Its happening as I feared… only untrained, undisciplined, unruly, and unsoldierly Right Sector terrorists and “National guard” Uniate/schismatic thugs-in-uniform remain as reliable “forces” available to the junta. Druzhkovka is to the south of Kramatorsk, on the main road to Slavyansk (which is 30 klicks (@20 miles) away). Any forces sent here would weaken any assault on Slavyansk. This is shades of the Battle of Warsaw when Stalin and Budyonny diverted forces to Lvov, which was away from the main battle. Of course, you can see why the Uniate thugs decided to attack Druzhkovka… it’s undefended, which gives the swaggering terrorists full reign. However, if the junta forces ran into a bottleneck in Slavyansk, the forces in the south couldn’t move directly to their support, they’d have to go off-road, which would hamper their logistics support, cut their speed, and increase chances of a patriot ambush (the road to Slavyansk goes through Kramatorsk, still in patriot hands). Besides which, undisciplined and untrained forces, such as those available to the junta, take time to assemble and move out (and are harder to control if one has to leave road march order and go cross-country). In short, this was a stupid move.

Former Ukrainian presidential candidate and active federalisation supporter Oleg Tsaryov stated, “Instead of disbanding and disarming illegally armed groups, the self-proclaimed government in Kiev legalised their actions, first by creating a ‘National Guard’, then, special units in eastern regions, and other territorial military units. Apparently, their buildup of military forces, aimed to suppress protest in the eastern Ukraine, runs counter to the communiqué signed by Russia, the USA, the EU, and the Ukraine. It’s still possible to end the civil war in the Ukraine, but only joint efforts by Ukrainians and the international mediators who signed the Geneva agreement on 17 April can end the bloodshed”.

People’s Governor of Lugansk Oblast Valery Bolotov issued an order, “I declare a state of emergency in Lugansk Oblast. I announce a full mobilisation of the male population and impose a curfew from 23.00 to 06.00”. Earlier, a senior MVDU officer told RIA-Novosti earlier that Anatoly Naumenko, the police commander in Lugansk, told his subordinates to evacuate their families from the city, as there’d be an assault with armoured vehicles and artillery. Meanwhile, patriot sources in Lugansk said, “We don’t have information about any impending assault, but we’re getting ready for any eventuality”.

Most of the Ukrainian army stores in the east are in patriot areas… the junta must capture them or run out of munitions, spares, provisions (remember how they sold the American-provided MREs on the internet?), and POL, which would grind its repression operation to a halt. The junta has to win QUICKLY… or face a battle of attrition that it can’t win (it’s only real supporters are the Uniates and schismatics, the first being 8 percent of the population, the second comprising 12 percent). It’s amazing… Euromaidan supporters don’t feel the slightest sympathy for people who died in Odessa and their families. Their biting and even gleeful comments flood the internet. One of the Ukrainian TV channels aired a popular political talk-show right at the time when people were dying in the fire. Its guests expressed enthusiasm about the radicals’ actions and called for providing them with weapons. The fire that killed people in Odessa wasn’t an accident; it was arson. Rossiya-24 TV reported that the internet has a video showing young girls bottling Molotov cocktails right in the street. The girls weren’t embarrassed at all; they even posed in front of the camera. They wore headscarves in the colours of the Ukrainian national flag. Their movements were exact and correct. The girls seemed to be confident of carrying out a high patriotic mission. Later, terrorists cast those bottles at the Trades-Union House, causing the death of over 40 people in a fire. Another 27 are in grave condition. The total number of casualties is over 200.
Immediately after the fire began, and when it became clear that it’d claim many victims, the junta claimed that Russia was behind it all. Social networks posted comments saying that the people who died in the fire weren’t local residents, but Russian extremists, and it was their own fault, good riddance. These monsters called those burned alive “May Day shish-kebabs”. Facebook users overflow with emotions. People feel frightened and helpless. However, bloggers find the situation logical because the Ukraine is the last Nazi-style state in Europe. They think that it’s high time for people to realise this and not to indulge in illusions.

The tragedy in Odessa has become a moment of truth, when politicians speak without choosing words and nationalists kill without feeling shy of cameras. You can find all of this online, so, one can draw conclusions about the parties’ true nature and intentions. YouTube and social networks show nationalist terrorists shooting at those who found refuge in the Trade Union House. Young girls wearing headscarves the colour of the Ukrainian national flag diligently made Molotov cocktails later cast at the building. A group of people bottled explosive liquid right in the street, as if this were a picnic. Several hours later, those bottles made people burn alive. When the Trades-Union House was in flames, the people there didn’t get prompt assistance. Eyewitnesses said that fire-engines took ages to arrive, almost 20 minutes, which was hardly accidental. Nationalists openly sneered at the dead and injured. They call patriot elements “Colorado beetles” or the colour of their St George ribbons and sacrilegiously refer to the fire victims as “May Day shish-kebabs”. Two Ukrainian Rada People’s Deputies, both female, didn’t hesitate to praise the radical attack on their Facebook pages. They said, “Bravo, Odessa!” as if it was a theatrical show and not a tragedy with dozens of victims.

On Saturday, 10 people died and more than 40 injured in a bloodbath staged by ultranationalist Right Sector terrorists in the village of Andreyevka on the outskirts of Slavyansk. Slavyansk People’s Mayor Vyacheslav Ponomaryov said that the incident wasn’t accidental. Extremists opened fire at unarmed people, not at a roadblock, but on a road in the middle of the village. He said, “People blocked the way to the Right Sector column and tried to talk with the militants. In reply, they got automatic gunfire”. Earlier reports said that the villagers tried to prevent Right Sector gunmen from going towards Slavyansk and formed a living chain across the road to stop trucks and APCs. Reports said that the villagers parlayed with the gunmen, who agreed to fire their ammunition into the air and leave. However, after several bursts of fire into the air, the gunmen turned their weapons against the unarmed people.

On Saturday, a RIA-Novosti correspondent reported shots on the outskirts of the city broke the relative calm in Slavyansk, and residents prepared for a ruthless assault by junta forces (which include Right Sector terrorists and “National Guard” thugs). Opolchenie fighters at the strongpoints around Slavyansk said that they expect an attack in the coming hours. Following the departure of the OSCE inspectors earlier in the day, most people expect the junta bands to strike soon. Saturday was rather calm, there seemed to be a return to peaceful life. Some shops opened and people started queuing to stock up with food in preparation for the battle.

The junta has to win the upcoming battle, as all of its earlier ops led to failure. The problem is that the force outside Slavyansk has too many untrained “National Guard” thugs and Right Sector terrorists, and the opposing opolchenie are fighting for their homes… and their families are right behind them. If they fail, their families are targets for the Uniate terrorist filth in the junta bands. Already, the Uniate terrorists have mown down civilians… the opolchenie know it and they’re going to fight like devils.
